Buffs Finish Competition at Kit Mayer Classic

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado track and field wrapped up competition Saturday at the Kit Mayer Classic with a pair of strong performances on the track.

Helen Carlson led the way, winning the women's 800 meters in a season-opening time of 2:14.04 in her first race at the distance since last spring. On the men's side, Kimi Bulto recorded a season-best time of 1:54.15 to place fourth in the 800 meters.
Lucas Williams also returned to action after competing Wednesday, placing fourth in the men's discus with a throw of 50.80 meters (166-8).
NEXT UP: Colorado heads to California next week for a trio of meets, competing at the Mt. SAC Relays, Bryan Clay Invitational and Beach Invitational from April 16–18.
