Ian Lochhead Named RMISA Alpine Coach of the Year

BOULDER — Colorado Buffaloes Ski Team alpine coach Ian Lochhead has been named the RMISA Alpine Coach of the Year following the 2026 season.

Lochhead guided Colorado to the top of the RMISA alpine standings, as the Buffaloes scored a conference-best 1,389 points during the regular season. Colorado led both the men's standings with 707 points and the women's standings with 682, helping secure the RMISA Regular Season Championship.

At the NCAA Championships, Colorado recorded 264 combined points in the four alpine races, the highest total among all teams.

Colorado led the RMISA with 11 alpine race wins during the season, coming from four skiers—Louison Accambray, Filip Wahlqvist, Feb Allasina and Justin Bigatel. The Buffaloes also totaled 37 podium finishes and 52 top-five results, both the highest marks in the conference.

Colorado earned seven alpine All-America honors. Accambray and Allasina each received two first-team honors. Wahlqvist earned one first-team and one second-team honor, and Cathinka Lunder was named second-team All-America in the giant slalom.
