Tragarz Leads Buffs On Final Day Of Big 12 Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. – Colorado track and field wrapped up competition Saturday at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with three medalists, highlighted by Danny Tragarz's runner-up finish in the men's 400-meter hurdles.

Tragarz turned in another strong performance in the men's 400-meter hurdles, running 49.84 to tie his altitude personal best and place second overall in a hard-fought race.
In the women's 800 meters, Avery Pearson earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 2:06.79 in a tightly contested championship final.
James Overberg added another podium finish for the Buffs, placing eighth in the men's 5000 meters with a time of 13:56.58.
Freshman Holly Barker also delivered a gritty effort in the women's 5000 meters, finishing 13th overall in 16:42.48.
Tragarz, Pearson, Overberg and several other Buffs are set to compete at the NCAA West Regional beginning May 27.
