BOULDER – Amir Jones has signed a financial aid agreement to join the Colorado men's basketball program for the 2026-27 campaign, head coach Tad Boyle announced on Thursday.

A 6-foot, 3-inch guard, Jones makes Colorado his next stop after a successful career at one of the top programs not only in the state of California but the entire country. Jones starred for Harvard-Westlake in Studio City, Calif., where he was part of two California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Open State championship teams, as well as semifinal and quarterfinal appearances.

As a senior in 2025-26, Jones averaged 12 points, five rebounds and four assists, helping the Wolverines to runner-up finishes in both the CIF-Southern Section Open Division and the CIF State SoCal Regional championship. Harvard-Westlake finished with a 27-7 record, ranked No. 3 overall in California and No. 25 in the nation, according to MaxPreps.

Jones earned All-Mission League Second Team honors as a senior and was selected to the LA Daily News All-Area Boys Basketball Team.

As a junior in 2024-25, Jones averaged nearly nine points, 2.1 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game while shooting 48 percent from the field, helping Harvard-Westlake to a 31-3 record, including a perfect 7-0 mark in Mission League play, and a spot in the CIF State SoCal Regional semifinals.

Harvard-Westlake won back-to-back CIF Open Division State championships in Jones' freshman and sophomore years in 2022-23 and '23-24, with both teams ranking in the top six in the nation. The Wolverines had a record of 124-15 over his four high school seasons.

"Amir is the epitome of the term sleeper," Boyle said. "His ability to defend on and off the ball, as well as shoot it, makes him an ideal Colorado Buffalo."
