2021: Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Competed in three meets ... Opened up his season with a decathlon personal best of 6160 at the Rafer Johnson Invitational ... Finished up his season at the PAC-12 Championships where he competed in the decathlon.
2020: Indoor: Competed in six meets ... Set a personal best in the 60 hurdles at the Air Force Invitational at 8.40 ... Also threw a personal best in the shot put ... Competed in three heptathlons, placing second at the Colorado Invite with a season-best score of 4458.
Outdoor: Canceled due to COVID-19
2019: Indoor: Competed throughout the indoor season in the heptathlon, setting a new personal best in the event in the first weekend at the Mines Alumni Classic with 5,011 points. Suffered no heights in the MPSF Championships where he finished 14th overall with 3,350 points after setting a new personal best in the 60 hurdles at 8.49 seconds. Set personal bests in six of the seven heptathlon events this season (five coming from the Mines competition).
Outdoor: Did not compete.
2018: Indoor: Butte competed in mostly heptathlons during the 2018 indoor season. He brought home fifth place in the men’s heptathlon at the MPSF Championships in February, scoring 4,617 total points. He also competed in the Colorado School of Mines Classic and Multi Events meet, earning 4,575 total points for eighth place.
Outdoor: Butte focused on the decathlon during the 2018 outdoor season. He competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational in April, and scored 5,701 total points for ninth place, which prepared him for the Pac-12 Championships. At the Pac-12 Combined Events he placed third in the decathlon with a score of 6,079 total points, a personal best for him.
2017: Indoor: Butte competed in a pair of heptathlons as a freshman. He scored a personal best 4,420 points in his first competition at the CSM Alumni Classic & Multi, with four personal records in the 60-meters (7.30), 1,000-meters (3:01.03), 60-meter hurdles (9.00) and long jump (20-3.50).
Outdoor: Butte stayed busy during his freshman outdoor season. He won the pole vault at the Jerry Quiller Classic after clearing 13-9.25. Butte only participated in one decathlon as a freshman, totaling 4,954 points for 18th place at the California Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: Butte is the Chaparral High School pole vault record holder (15-6) which he set on April 22, 2016. As a senior, he was named first team All-Centennial League, the CHS and league MVP, as well as Chaparral’s Senior Athlete of the Year. During Butte’s junior year, he was a second team all-league selection and was named the team’s overall most improved athlete. At the state championship in 2016, Butte placed third overall, clearing the pole vault with a 15-4 mark. As a junior, he was eighth (13-6) at the state meet. Butte also competed in the 200, 110-hurdles and high jump in high school.
HIGH SCHOOL BESTS: Pole vault: 15-6; 110-meter hurdles: 16.01.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Butte is a mechanical engineering major.
