2017: Indoor: In his sophomore season, Taylor Jr. participated in the 60-meter dash, the high jump and the long jump. His personal record in the 60 came at the Potts Invitational (1/14) when he recorded a time of 7.52. It was also at that meet that he recorded his season best in the long jump at 21-0.75. His best high jump of the season came at the Joe Davies classic (2/18) when he cleared 6-6 for second place.Â
Outdoor: Taylor Jr. competed in the high jump in the spring as well. He won the Air Force Twilight with a jump of 6-8, which was a season-best.

2016: Indoor: Taylor Jr. mainly competed in the high jump as a freshman. He cleared a season-best 6-6.75 twice during the campaign. The first time was at the Air Force Invite (1/22), where he tied for sixth. The second was at the MPSF Championships where he was 14th overall.
Outdoor: Taylor Jr. competed in the long and high jumps as a freshman. He took second in the high jump at the CSM Invite, clearing a season best height at 6-6.75. At the same meet, Taylor Jr. placed third in the long jump with a personal record leap (22-9.25).

HIGH SCHOOL: Taylor Jr. owns the PCHS high jump record at 7-0, which is in the top 10 all-time in Colorado history. He cleared the mark, which was the seventh best in the nation for the 2015 season, at the Colorado Springs Metro League Championships. Taylor Jr. placed third at the state championships, reaching 6-8 in the finals. Prior to that placing, he won the high jump at seven consecutive meets. Taylor Jr. also placed seventh in the long jump (21-4) and was 10th in the triple jump (42-11.50) at the 2015 state championship. He earned first team all-state honors (high jump) and was first team all-conference (high jump and long jump) as a senior. In 2014, Taylor Jr. was all-conference (high jump) and placed third at state (6-7).

PERSONAL: Dionne Lamontay Taylor Jr. was born on June 5, 1997 in Helena, Mont. He is the son of Dionne Taylor Sr. and Mia Lampley of Colorado Springs, Colo. He has two siblings, William and Myah.
