2010 (O) 4x100-Meter Relay, 5th (40.46)

2011: Indoor: Whitaker earned a personal record of 6.72 in the 60-meter days at the Potts Invite (1/22), placing third overall. The time tied him for fourth overall on CU's all-time performers list with his older brother and former CU standout, Jeremy Dodson. The time also tied the seventh fastest time in school history.

2010: Indoor: Whitaker ran the fastest 60-meter time for the 2010 indoor season at the first meet of the season. He ran 6.81 at the AFA All-Comers meet and placed third overall. His second fastest time was 6.92 in the prelims at the Big 12 Championship. He was 16th overall. Whitaker's fastest time in the 200 came at the conference meet. He recorded a mark of 22.05 in the prelims to place 13th. Whitaker also ran on the 4x400-meter relay team at the league championship. The relay placed 10th overall but they finished with the 10th fastest time in CU history at 3:15.23.

Outdoor: Whitaker ran the 100 and 200 during the outdoor season. His fastest times came at the Fum McGraw Open (5/8). He took fourth in the 200 (21.54) and was fifth in the 100 (10.66). Whitaker ran the 100 at the Big 12 meet and took 16th in the prelims after running 10.79. He was a member of the 4x100-meter relay that placed fifth at conference (40.46) to earn his first letter. At the NCAA Preliminaries in Austin, the 4x100 relay ran the eighth fastest time in CU history at 39.91. It was the fastest time run by a CU relay since 2008. The relay placed 12th overall and automatically qualified for semifinals at nationals. At NCAAs, the team ran 40.35 but did not advance to the finals. The relay also ran the 14th best time in history at the Fum McGraw Open (40.19). Whitaker earned his first letter when the relay placed fifth with a mark of 40.46.

2009: Indoor: Whitaker turned on the heat as a freshman at Colorado by racing to a personal record of 6.86 at the Air Force Invite (2/14). He placed third overall, but with the time, it also makes him the eighth fastest performer of all time at CU. Whitaker raced the 60 eight times. His time of 7.00 in the prelims at the Big 12 championship was 14th overall. He also ran the 200 and earned a PR of 21.71 at the Air Force Duals (1/31) as well as a second-place finish.

Outdoor: During the outdoor season, Whitaker ran the 100 and 200; running season-bests in both events at the CU Invite (4/11). He clocked a fourth-place finishes in each, 10.76 in the 100 and 21.45 in the 200.

HIGH SCHOOL: Whitaker earned four letters at George Washington and Montbello, competing in the 100, 200 and 4x200-meter relay. He was a member of the 4x200 team that set the state record at 1:25.54 and helped the Patriots win the 2007 state championship. Whitaker also owns the Montbello High School 100-meter record at 10.55. He was an all-league selection all four years and was all-state as a freshman and junior. His junior season he was named an indoor All-American.

PERSONAL: A.J. Whitaker was born on Sept. 20, 1989 in New Orleans, La. He is the son of Robert (III) and An'Drea Whitaker of Denver. He has one sister, Lakysha Clark, and five brothers, Clayton Clark, Robert Whitaker IV, Jeremy and Quinton Dodson, and Kourtne Stancil. Jeremy owns the CU records in the indoor and outdoor 200-meter dashes and was a three-time All-American at Colorado.
