Top Career Giant Slalom Finish: 24th (2009 Western Qualifier)
2009 - Chevalier joined the CU Ski Team as a freshman walk-on and was forced to battle through some injuries in her first year as a Buff. She only saw action in four races, with her season-best mark coming in Eldora at the Western slalom Qualifier where she took 24th individually.
Club - Chevalier skied for the Heavenly Ski Foundation, Team Summit, Ski Club Vail and the Rocky Regional Team before joining the Colorado program. At the club level, Chevalier participated in a number of national events like the Whistler Cup Topolino, J2 Nationals and U.S. Nationals.
High School - Chevalier skied for the alpine team at Summit high school before attending and skiing for the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy under coach Tori Hauser. At Summit, Chevalier helped her 2007 team win the Colorado State Championship.
In the Classroom - Chevalier plans to major in integrative physiology at Colorado but is also interested in business.
Personal - Joelle Rose Chevalier was born Nov. 20, 1991 and is the daughter of JP and Sarah Chevalier or Frisco, Colo. Her father, JP, played collegiate lacrosse for Plymouth State and she is related to Tracy Chevalier, who is the author of Girl With A Pearl Earring. Chevalier chose to join the Colorado program because of her love for the Rocky Mountains and the Buffs.
