Career at Colorado—One of the most well-rounded student-athletes in CU history as evidence by him winning CU awards for the career athletic achievement while also maintaining the top GPA among all student-athletes at CU.  He competed at the NCAA Championships four times for the Buffaloes, helping the squad win two NCAA Championships (2011, ’13).  He earned first-team Academic All-District three times and was a three-time Academic All-American, third-team as a sophomore, second-team as a junior and first-team as a senior.  He earned four mentions on the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team and four times on CU’s 4.0 Club.  He won the Elite 89 Award for having the top GPA among all student-athletes at the NCAA Championships in 2012 and was twice named second-team All-RMISA. He was the Men’s Alpine MVP of the RMISA as a freshman.  In 56 career races, he finished 50 of them with 19 top 10 finishes.  He finished with nine top 5 finishes, five podiums and two race victories, one each in slalom and giant slalom.  He graduated from CU with just one A- on his transcript.

2014 (Senior)—Haug had yet another banner year as he finished 13 of his 14 races with 11 top 20 finishes, two top 10s and one race victory.  He saved his best for nearly his last as he won the GS race at the RMISA Championships, his first GS race win of his career and second overall win.  He was also 10th in the GS qualifier to open the season and narrowly missed being and All-American, finishing 11th just a fraction of a second out of a top 10, which would’ve been an All-American nod.  He earned the ski team’s Outstanding Career Award and was named CU’s Career Athletic Achievement Award recipient and had the top GPA among all senior male student-athletes at CU.  He was a first-team Academic All-American, earned mention on the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team and CU’s 4.0 Club.  He was also honored with CU’s Buffalo Award of Distinction and the Pac-12 Conference’s Tom Hansen Medal award.

2013 (Junior)—Haug completed 13 of the 14 races on the season and for the third time represented the Buffs at the NCAA Championship, helping the team to the 2013 title. He showed flashes of what made him the RMISA MPV his freshman season and turned in an especially clutch performance at the RMISA Championships, cementing his spot on the contingent that represented the Buffs in Vermont at the NCAA Championships. Entering the RMISA Championships, he had one top 10 finish in each giant slalom and slalom action, and needed a second solid result to move up the RMISA NCAA Qualification list. He did just that, leading the Buffs in both races with a fifth place GS result and seventh place slalom finish. At the NCAA Championships, he finished tied for 12th in the GS race and was 16th in the slalom race when the Buffs used a team-first mentality, meaning it was more important for him to finish than it was to go all out and shoot for the podium. One of the top academic student-athletes on the CU-Boulder campus, he was named to the Division I National All-Academic Team, CU’s 4.0 Club and was a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American after earning first-team mention on the All-District 7 team.

2012 (Sophomore)—Haug continued on his successful freshman season with another impressive performance on the slopes as a sophomore. He completed 12 of the 14 races on the season and represented the Buffs at the NCAA Championships for the second straight season. He had four top 10 performances, all in giant slalom action, with two of those top five finishes and one podium with a third place finish in a giant slalom qualifier ahead of the RMISA Championships. He finished fourth in the giant slalom at the University of Colorado Spencer Nelson Memorial Invitational, a day after he opened the season with an ninth place finish in a qualifier race both at Eldora. He also had a ninth place GS finish at the Denver Invitational in Winter Park. A top student-athlete, won the Elite 89 Award for having the highest GPA amongst all competitors at the NCAA Championships and the CU Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest GPA amongst all sophomore student-athletes at CU. He was named to the Division I National All-Academic Ski Team and was a third-team mention for the CoSIDA Academic All-American At-Large squad. He also made mention on CU’s 4.0 Club and was named second-team All-RMISA.

2011 (Freshman)—Haug completed a highly successful freshman campaign being named the RMISA MVP for men’s alpine, an award he earned largely because of his consistency throughout the season. He completed all 14 races, the only CU alpine skier to accomplish that feat on both the men’s and women’s side. He finished in the top 20 in all but one race and the top 10 in 10 of the 14 races. Prior to the start of the RMISA Championships, his only finish outside the top 10 was an 11th place in the slalom race at the Utah Invitational, the first slalom race of the season. He took ninth the day before in the GS race there. He had the opportunity to represent Norway at the World University Games but passed and took advantage by winning the first race of his career, a slalom race at the New Mexico Invitational. He was fifth in the other slalom race there and earned CU Athlete of the Week honors. His best all-around performance likely was at the Denver Invitational, with those skiers competing at WUG back, he took home two podium performances, finishing third in both the slalom and giant slalom races and earning RMISA Skier of the Week honors. In the end, he earned second-team All-RMISA honors and while his finishes weren’t as impressive at the NCAA Championships where the goals were based on team finish and not individual, his two finishes there were instrumental in CU winning the NCAA Championship. In the classroom, he earned a 4.0 GPA in CU’s highly ranked business school, and was named to the Division I National All-Academic team.

Club—Haug skied for the Norwegian Junior European Cup Team from 2006-08 and switched over to Edge Alpine the last three years before enrolling in college at Colorado. During that time, he competed in over 250 races, finished nearly 200 of them and compiled eight race victories, including four at the Norwegian National Junior Championships. He won the Norwegian National Junior Championship in the giant slalom in both 2006 and 2009 and both the Super G and Super Combined in 2008. He compiled 21 podium appearances, 36 top 5 and 70 top 10 performances.

High School—Haug graduated from Donaki Gymnasium in Raud, Norway in July 2008. He skied on the alpine ski team there for coach Per Erik Voguild.

In the Classroom—Haug graduated from the Leeds School of Business and got a job directly on Wall Street upon graduation in 2014.  He finished his career with a cumulative 3.99 grade point average, all A’s and one A- on his transcript.  He graduated with CU’s highest GPA among male student-athletes and was a three time Academic All-American and four times on the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski team.  He earned the Elite 89 Award in 2012 for having the highest GPA among all skiers at the NCAA Championships and two times was honored by having the highest GPA in his class for student-athletes at CU. He was awarded the Pac-12 Conference’s Tom Hansen Medal as a senior, as well.

Personal—Andreas Willumsen Haug was born March 20, 1989, in Blommenholm, Norway and his parents are Morten Haug and Nina Williamsen.
