He missed the first two races of the year competing in his home country of Norway and raced shortly after arriving to altitude in the Denver Invitational, finishing 16th in the freestyle race and 13th in the classical race. He then hit his stride in the shorter classical races, his specialty as a strong sprinter, finishing fifth at New Mexico, second at Utah and seventh at the RMISA Championships in that discipline. In all, he raced nine times with seven top 20 and three top 10 finishes. He was twice in the top five with one podium appearance.

Club—Nordstroem has over 100 FIS races to his credit to date with 26 top 10 finishes in his time on the Gavle Ski Team. She won a sprint classical race at the 2008 Swedish National Championships and took second place in a pair of races at the 2009 Swedish National Championships, the freestyle sprint and 10-kilometer pursuit. In 2012 at the Scandinavian Cup races in Estonia, he finished fourth in the classic sprint final after finishing second in the qualifying race, and he took ninth in the 15-kilometer classical race. In all he has 59 top 20 and 32 top 10 and 19 top five finishes with 11 podium appearances and two victories.
