Career at Colorado—Vigers left the program after his freshman season in 2013.
2013 (Freshman)—Vigers competed in and finished each of the 10 races leading up to the NCAA Championships and was nothing if not consistent, finishing all 10 races between 12th and 21st places. He had nine top 20 and five top 15 finishes. He had his best meet at New Mexico, where he finished 12th in the classical race and 13th in the freestyle race, both season highs to that point. He bettered his freestyle mark at the Utah Invitational, taking 11th there. He earned mention on the Division I National All-Academic Team for maintaining a 3.5 GPA and participating a the RMISA Championships. He earned mention on the CU 4.0 Club.
Club—Vigers participated for Ski Club Vail and has raced in 33 FIS races since 2010. He has two top 10 finishes, including an eighth place in the 15-kilometer freestyle race in a U.S. Super Tour race at West Yellowstone, Mont., in 2011. He also finished ninth in a Juniors races in Rumford, Maine, in a 10-kilometer classic mass start. He participated in the U.S. National Championships in 2011 and ’12 with his best finish a 48th place showing in the 15-kilometer freestyle race in Rumford, Maine, in 2012. He also participated in the Junior World Ski Championships in Ezurum, Turkey, in 2012 and his 4x5-kilometer relay team took 11th place.
High School—Vigers graduated from Boulder High School in 2012.
In the Classroom—Vigers planned to major in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Colorado.
Personal—Michael Philip Allen Vigers was born January 2, 1993, in Boulder, Colo., to Guy and Alison Vigers. His goal after graduation is to become a doctor. He once held a job as a bicycle mechanic. He chose Colorado because of the athletics, academics and location.
