2005 Outlook: Lee-O’Brien is becoming technically sound and his fall workouts indicates he is beginning to understand the nuisances of sprinting. The staff will be relying on him to help the Buffs in the short springs and relays.

2004: During the indoor season Lee-O’Brien competed in the 60, 200 and 400-meter dashes as one of CU’s standout sprinters. In his only 60-meter race, he finished 10th at the Air Force Classic in a time of 7:15. His top time in the 200 came at the Air Force Invite, as he clocked a 22.40 to finish 14th; his best finish was at the Air Force Classic when he placed eighth (22.45). In the 400, Lee-O’Brien’s best dash resulted in a 49.95 at the Adidas Invite. He earned letterman status during the outdoor season while racing in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, and 4X100-meter relay. He ran the fourth-fastest 100 on the team with a 10.90 at the Pepsi Invitational for fourth overall ? his top finish of the year. In the 200 he clocked a 21.79 at the Big 12 Championships and placed 16th. At the Jack Christensen Invite he took fifth (21.89), while he also finished second (22.15) at the Potts Invitational. The lead-off leg in the 4X100-meter relay, he helped pace CU to an eighth-place finish at the Big 12 Championships with a 42.01; that relay earned Big 12 scoring points for the Buffs. The top finishes in the 4X100 included first place finishes at the Jack Christensen Invite and Potts Invitational (41.17 and 42.13, respectively), while the relay team also came in third at the Arizona State Invite (41.59).

2003: Lee-O’Brien ran the 60 and 200-meter sprints as well as the distance medley relay in the indoor season, and the 100, 200 and 400-meters during the outdoor campaign. At the Air Force Classic in early February he recorded his top two scores in the 60 and 200-meters, a 10th-place finish in the 60 (7.11) and ninth in the 200 (22.28). His medley relay team claimed first place at the Air Force Classic (10:28.71) before taking a second-place finish at the Big 12 Championships (9:50.50). Outdoors, Lee-O’Brien finished third in the 100-meters at the CU Twilight meet (11.07) and recorded a season-best 10:77 (second place) at the Tom Benich Classic. In the 200, he clocked 21.99 at the Tom Benich Classic and had an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter at the Jim Click Invitational (51.56).

2002 Track & Field: Lee-O’Brien competed in the 60 and 200-meter dashes during the indoor season. He ran an 11.3 outdoors 100-meters for third place at the Colorado Invitational and a 22.5 200-meters for fifth at the same meet. He also ran the 400-meters.

High School: He ran sprints and relays in at Wilson High School in Portland, Ore. and was a member of four district champion teams. He was named team MVP his senior year. He was also an all-league football player playing multiple positions, and he was a two-time junior Olympian in skiing.

Academics: Lee-O’Brien is an economics and political science major at Colorado.  With a better than 3.0 grade point average, he has been named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll following the fall ’01 and spring ’04 semesters and was named first-team Academic All-Big 12 in 2003. He would like to attend law school after graduation.
