2007 OUTLOOK: Anthony had a great spring in 2006. His training is ahead of last winter. He should threaten the school record in the 1500-meters this spring.

2006: Chiulli participated in the 1,000m and the mile runs during the indoor season. He ran a mark of 4:03.16 in the mile at the Alex Wilson Invite, which was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. It was a personal record and he placed second overall. Chiulli earned a second-place finish in the 1,000m run at the Big 12 Championship. He recorded a personal record of 2:22.14. Chiulli mainly concentrated on the 1,500m during the outdoor season, but he did race the 800m once at the Colorado Invitational. He placed first in the 800, recorded a regional qualifying time and personal best of 1:49.98. In the 1,500, he set three regional qualifying times. His personal best was 3:42.54, which was set at the league championships. Chiulli took third in the race. He advanced to regionals, where he placed seventh (3:46.31) and earned a trip to the national championship. Chiulli took 22nd overall (3:52.49) at NCAAs. 

2005: Chiulli competed in the 800 and 1000m races during the indoor season. He ran a personal record of 1:52.04 at the Husky Classic 800 and finished ninth overall. He also contributed to the 4X400 relay team at the Husky Classic, helping his team to a 3:16.05 finish. Chiulli raced in the 400, 800 and 1,500 for the second part of the season. At the Potts Invitational, he took first with a personal best (1:55.7) in the 800. In the 1,500, Chiulli took first at the Cardinal Invitational with a regional qualifying time of 3:47.91.

2004: Chiulli redshirt both the indoor and outdoor seasons with a foot injury. Did not compete

CROSS COUNTRY:  Chiulli participated in three races in 2006. He took 33rd at the Rocky Mountain Shootut (27:09). At the Fort Hays Invite, he placed third overall. Chiulli earned his best finish of the season with a second-place finish at the Air Force Invite. In 2005 he competed in three races, including the Pre-Nationals Invitational open race and the Big 12 Championships, finishing 28th and 30th (eighth, team), respectively. Chiulli took a redshirt the 2003 season and in ’04 ran in three races, scoring in both the Tiger and Air Force Invitationals with a career best 11th place finish in the latter.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-sport athlete (track, cross country, basketball) at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn., Chiulli graduated with school records in the 800-meter (1:52.7) and mile (4:14), both as team captain in his senior campaign. As a junior he won the state cross country championships (15:52), earning first-team all-state honors, and later was named Runner of the Year (Commercial Appeal) and West Tennessee’s Runner of the Year. As a senior, Chiulli was a first team all-state track honoree, regional champion in the mile and 800-meter; he then again claimed the Commerical Appeal’s Runner of the Year.

ACADEMICS: Chiulli carries a better than 3.0 GPA in management. He has been named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll on several occasions.

PERSONAL: Anthony Joseph Chiulli was born April 4, 1985 to parents Brian and Susan Chiulli in Carrolton, Ga. Anthony’s father did not miss a single race during his son’s high school track career. His hobbies include mountain biking and going on tours with bands like Phish and Widespread Panic. Chiulli spend the summer of 2006 working for the AVP/Crocs Tour across the country.
