CAREER UPDATE: Kevin Fasing ranks sixth on the CU chart in the javelin with a throw of 216-06. He is also the fourth best performer at CU. Fasing has one All-Big 12 honor under his belt and will look to add more in the 2010 season.
2011: Fasing competed twice for the Buffs in the javelin and placed third at both meets. Fasing started the season with a throw of 174-02 at the Potts Invite (3/18). He had a season-best throw of 183-00 at the CU Invite (4/9).
2010: Fasing returned to the javelin after redshirting the 2009 season. He recorded a throw of 189-11 at the CU Invite (4/10) to place third. Fasing placed 14th at the Big 12 meet when he recorded a toss of 179-11.
2009: Redshirt. Did not compete.
2008: Fasing started the outdoor season with a season-best throw of 204-02 at the Potts Invite, which was also a regional qualifying mark. It was his only first place finish of the season. Fasing took a trio of second place finishes at the Front Range Classic, CU Invite and Rob Upton Invite and a sixth place finish at the Oregon Relays.
2007: Fasing quickly picked up the javelin and has earned a role on the varsity team in just his first season. He owns five of the top-10 marks in CU history (sixth-10th). His first-ever throw as a Buffalo was 188-11 at the Potts Invite, which was sixth all-time at that point. At the Jack Christianson Invite, he earned his first crown with a throw of 194-08. Fasing recorded a fifth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship (194-03) and his first all-conference honor. His top marks earned him the privilege of competing at the USATF junior nationals, where he placed second overall. Fasing bettered his former PR by more than two feet with a throw of 216-06.
HIGH SCHOOL: Fasing earned first team honors as a sophomore and second team honors his junior and senior seasons at Mullen.
ACADEMICS: Fasing graduated with a degree in integrated physiology. He was a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Fasing was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2008, 10 and 11.
PERSONAL: Fasing is the son of Greg and Suzanne Fasing of Denver, Colo. He has one older brother, Jim, who attends CU.
