2007 OUTLOOK: Abe has been working extremely hard in the weight room and on the track this fall, which should transfer into fast times.  He will add valuable depth to the relays and he is looking to be a major contributor in the long hurdles this season.

2006: Friesen raced in the 200, 400 and 500-meter races in the indoor season. He set personal bests in all three. Friesen raced to a mark of 22.82 in the 200m and 50.77 in the 400m at the Air Force Invite. He ran the 500 at the Joe Davies Open and placed seventh with a pr of 1:09.09. At the conference championships, he placed 16th in the 400 (51.92) and 19th in the 200 (23.06). Friesen added the 400-meter hurdles to his repertoire for the outdoor season and once against set marks in all three races. He earned a 14th-place finish in the Tom Benich Classic in the 200 (22.49). At the Ris Western/Air Force Twilight meet he took sixth in the 400 (49.34) and at the Colorado Invitational he took seventh in the 400m-hurdles (57.35).

2005: Friesen started off the 2005 campaign by running the 60 and 200-meter races in the indoor season. He set personal records in both, recording a 7.31 finish in the Joe Davies Open in the 60 and a 23.04 finish in the Air Force Open 200. In the outdoor season, Friesen competed in the 100, 200, and 400, once again setting personal records in each race. He ran a personal record 11.35 in the 100 at the Ris Western-Air Force Twilight for seventh place. He topped his indoor mark in the 200 with a 22.69 finish at the Tom Benich Invitational and set yet another personal record with a 51.09 finish in the Colorado Invitational 400. Friesen also ran three relay races: the 4x100 (41.78) at the Potts Invitational, the 4x400 (3:14.15) at the Ris Western-Air Force Twilight and once again the 4x400 (3:32.64) at the Tom Benich Invitational.

2004: Friesen kicked off his collegiate career by competing at the indoor 60, 200 and 400-meter distances. He finished 13th with a time of 7.41 in the 60 at the Air Force Classic, and ran a 23.96 in his lone 200 race, good for third at the Colorado Invitational. He competed in two 400-meter dashes, with his best performance coming at the Air Force Invite in a time of 51.67. On the outdoor track, Friesen competed in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. His season-best 100 (11.45) occurred during the Tom Benich Classic, while in the 200 he posted a career-record 22.96 at the Jack Christensen Invite. That mark earned him 13th, and came in his final race of the spring season.     

High School: A three-sport athlete at Nederland High School in Nederland, Colo., Friesen lettered four years in track, three years in basketball and one year in football. His Nederland team claimed the 2003 2A state championship in the 4x200 relay, second place in the 200-meter, third in the 100 and fifth in the 4x400. In 2002, the team claimed fourth place in the 4x400 relay, as well as second in 2001. He was the Boulder Camera Athlete of the Year as a senior and won the Outstanding Junior Award in 2002. He lists the biggest moment of his prep career when he took second place at state in the 4x200 relay.

ACADEMICS: Friesen is a physics major at Colorado.

PERSONAL: Abraham William Friesen was born August 8, 1984 in Boulder, Colo. to parents Mark and Margy Friesen. Hobbies include working on cars and motorcycles.
