2007 OUTLOOK: Cortney is the returning school record holder in the indoor weight throw and NCAA Indoor provisional qualifier. She will be a contender for the top weight throwers in the Big 12 and hopefully will continue on to the NCAA Indoor Championships.
2006: Hutmacher extended her school record twice during the indoor season. The first came at the Big 12 Championship with a toss of 61-08.50. She took fifth-place overall. The following weekend, she extended it by a foot at 62-08.50 at the Don Barrett Invite. During the outdoor season, Hutmacher competed in the discus and hammer throws. She set a pr in the hammer throw with a first-place toss of 169-03 at the Ris Westen/Air Force Twilight. Hutmacher took 10th in the event in at the Big 12 Championship. Her best throw of the spring in the discus was at the Jack Christiansen Invite. Hutmacher threw 141-02, good for fifth. She placed 19th at Big 12’s with a toss of 139-02.
2005: Hutmacher competed six times in the weight throw during the indoor season, only finishing below the top five once, for seventh place. At the Big 12 Indoors she set a personal and school record with a 61-00.75 throw for third-place. The previous school record was 49-11.25, also held by Hutmacher. During the outdoor season, she competed in the discus and hammer throw. Her best toss in the discus was a first place throw of 140-10.00 at the Potts Invitational. In the hammer throw, her season best was 161-07.00 at the Ris Western-Air Force Twilight for fifth-place.
2004: During the indoor season, Hutmacher placed third in the shot put at the Colorado Invitational and 11th in the weight throw at the Big 12 Championships with a team-best throw of 49-11.25. In the outdoor season, she was the top athlete on the team for the discus and the hammer throw. She placed 10th at the Big 12 Championships in the discus and 12th in the hammer throw. Hutmacher also competed in the shot put.
High School: A five-time letterwinner in both shot put and discus, Hutmacher won back-to-back state titles in the shot put and was undefeated during her junior and senior years. She was a regional champion in the shot put and discus her sophomore through senior years and as a senior was the state runner-up in the discus throw while earning the school’s Most Valuable Female Athlete Award. As a junior, Hutmacher took fourth place at the state championships in the discus and was a Distinguished Student nominee. In her sophomore year, she was the state runner up in the shot put and discus, regional runner up in the shot put and fourth place in the discus as a freshman. She graduated from
ACADEMICS: An integrative physiology major, Hutmacher has a 3.197 grade point average going into her senior season. She’s got one Dean’s List semester and four on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
PERSONAL: Courtney Jo Hutmacher was born October 8, 1984 in
