Corporate Cup Charities

Corporate Cup Charity Challenge

Four metro area charities will be the beneficiaries of donations by participating company teams. Impact on Education, Vitalant, A Precious Child and Community Food Share will all be accepting and recording donations from March 1 through May 15, 2020.

Donations must be made directly to each charity, not through any partner agencies or through any third-party donations. Only employee donations will count. Up to two times an employee’s donation through a company match will count, but company grants cannot be converted to Corporate Cup points.

Each charity will rank the participating teams, within their respective divisions, in order of their donated amounts, after which CU will award points towards the overall Corporate Cup competition. Please make sure you specify Corporate Cup when setting up your drive so the charities have an accurate count.

Crayons to Calculators

Crayons to Calculators collects and distributes new backpacks and school supplies to ensure that Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley students head back to school with the tools they need to succeed. There are over 11,000 students in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts who qualify for free and reduced lunch—an indicator of poverty. The cost of basic school supplies ($60–$80 per student), presents a financial burden for many of these families. Crayons to Calculators aims to cut that cost and move one step closer to eliminating the achievement gap that persists between low-income students and their higher-income peers. Starting the year with school supplies is a critical first step to helping boost or sustain a student’s academic performance. It also enables schools to operate more effectively.

Participating companies can host a school supply and funds drive. For the Charity Challenge, we are collecting the following new school supplies: #2 Pencils, Crayons, Broad Tip Markers, Dry Erase Markers, Backpacks, Wide Ruled Composition Notebooks, Highlighters, College Ruled Composition Notebooks, Pens and monetary gifts.
