Cody McSorley
Cody McSorley joined the Herbst Academic Center as an Academic Mentor in Aug. 2022 after serving as an Academic Advisor and Retention Specialist at MSU Denver.

Before moving to Colorado in 2020, McSorley served as an Academic Support Specialist at Concordia University, Wisconsin, where he oversaw the university’s supplemental support services such as peer tutoring, supplemental instruction, and peer mentors.
 
McSorley completed his undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Aurora University in 2015, where he competed for the Spartans as a cross country and track & field student-athlete. From 2016-2018, he served as the graduate assistant for the men’s and women’s programs at Concordia University Ann Arbor, while earning his Masters of Science in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education before accepting a position as an Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field coach at Buena Vista University.
 
Originally from Byron, Ill., McSorley couldn’t be more excited to trade cornfields for mountains and spends most of his free time hiking, paddle boarding, with his wife, Shannon, and dog, Willa.
