Bio
2017-18 (Junior): Bunn played in 18 games and made 16 starts before leaving the team in January. She averaged 9.1 points and 6.7 rebounds, while shooting 46.0 percent from the floor. She scored in double figures seven times and had 10 or more rebounds three times with two double-doubles. Her best performance came on Nov. 29 in a win over North Dakota State as she had 21 points and 11 rebounds on 9-of-12 shooting. She also had a double-double at Washington State on Jan. 5 with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Bunn helped the Buffs to a win at Washington on Jan. 7 with 17 points.
Prior to CU: Bunn led Midland (Texas) College with 11.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots, starting 25 games as a sophomore in 2016-17 and earned NJCAA honorable mention All-America. She helped the Lady Chaps to a 17-10 record and averaged 12.6 points and 13.3 rebounds over the final seven games of the season, leading the team to a 5-2 record over that stretch. For the season, she had single-game highs of 23 points, 23 rebounds and seven blocked shots (twice). Bunn also topped 20 points four times and scored in double figures 16 times. She had 10 double-doubles as well and went on to earn first-team all-conference honors. As a freshman in 2014-15 at Northeast (Neb.) Community College, Bunn averaged 11.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots in 31 games.
High School: A 2014 graduate of Central High School, she was named first-team all-Western Massachusetts as a junior and as a senior, and participated in two all-star games after averaging 13.3 points, 14 rebounds and 4.8 blocks as a senior. She didn't start playing basketball until her freshman year of high school and lettered three seasons. Bunn also played volleyball as a senior.
Academics: Bunn is majoring in sociology.
Personal: Janea Bunn was born on April 9, 1996, to Walter Flintroy and Joyce Ben-Israel. She has an older brother Rhashawn Bunn, a younger sister Nikisha Bunn, and older sisters Nina Anderson and Vanessa Salone. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to Chief Keef, dancing, and playing video games.
