CAREER UPDATE: Hurysz became the CU record holder in the mile run after racing 3:58.13 at the Husky Classic on Feb. 14, 2015, surpassing the former record of 3:59.55 from 2006. Only Hurysz and Stephen Pifer, the former record holder, have raced sub-four minute miles for the Buffs; Hurysz is the only one to do it twice. He is also the second best indoor 3k performer in CU history (7:50.50). Outdoors, Hurysz ranks third all-time in CU’s 1,500-meter history with a time of 3:40.63, which he ran on April 28, 2013 in Stanford, Calif.  He also owns the ninth fastest individual time in the event at 3:41.75, which he timed at the NCAA West Preliminary on May 31, 2014. Hurysz is on the outdoor 5k list, ranking eighth all-time in 13:38.58.

2015: Indoor: Hurysz set the CU mile record and earned a pair of All-America Second Team honors in his final season with the Buffs. He raced his first ever mile in a CU uniform at the Husky Classic (2/14) and clocked in at 3:58.13 to break Stephen Pifer’s previous record of 3:59.55 from 2006. Hurysz raced the 3,000 in his next race for CU at the MPSF Championship and placed fifth overall in 7:53.06. Both of his times in the mile and 3k qualified for NCAAs. He ran 3:59.93 in the mile prelims on the first day of NCAAs to advance to the finals. With the time, he became the only Buff to ever run a pair of sub-four minute miles. On the following day, Hurysz placed 10th in the mile with a time of 4:07.91 for his first All-America track honor. Just a couple short hours later, he was back on the track to compete in the 3k where he placed 14th in 8:09.06 for this second All-America honor of the night.
Outdoor: Hurysz finished his career strong for the Buffs, concentrating solely on the 1,500. His first race of the season was the Stanford Invite (4/3) where he finished fourth (3:44.26) in section 1. Two weeks later, Hurysz ran 3:43.21 at the Bryan Clay Invite (4/17), which was sixth overall. He ran his season best at the Payton Jordan Invite (5/2), finishing fifth in section 3. At the Pac-12 Championships, Hurysz placed eighth (3:47.67) after placing sixth in the preliminary round (3:42.74). He went on to compete at the NCAA West Preliminary Round and placed 15th in the first round (3:48.54) before finishing his season 19th in the semis (3:47.53).

Just two weeks later at the MPSF Championship, Hurysz raced to a second-place finish in the 3k, clocking in at 7:50.50, the second fastest time in CU history. The time ranked third in the NCAA, easily advancing Hurysz to the indoor championships where he finished 12th in 8:18.57 to earn All-America Second Team honors.
Outdoor: Hurysz continued to have a great year as the season switched outdoors. There, he focused on the 1,500 and 5,000. At the Pac-12 Championships, Hurysz competed in both events. He placed sixth in the 5k (13:55.57) and was 22nd in the 1,500 (3:58.57). Hurysz went on to race the same two events at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships. He was 44th overall in the 5k (15:05.83), but had a much better showing in the 1,500. Hurysz was eighth in the prelims (3:43.09) and two days later, he placed fifth overall with a season-best and the ninth-fastest time in CU history (3:41.75), while advancing to the NCAA Championship.
