2008: Herzl ran in the mile and 3k during the indoor season. His pr in the mile came at the Big 12 Championship when he finished in 4:20.46 and took 17th. He also ran the 3k at the meet and took 32nd. During the outdoor season Herzl switched to the steeplechase and the 5k. He just missed scoring at the conference meet in Boulder by placing ninth in the steeplechase.
2007: Herzl ran one race during the indoor season. He placed 49th at the Big 12 championship with a mark of 8:57.26. Herzl concentrated on the 1,500 during the outdoor season. He recorded a sub four-minute mark at the Oregon Invite in the ?B’ section (3:59.75) and broke his former personal record of 4:10.00 which he had set three weeks prior at the Tom Benich Invite. Herzl earned his best placing at the Potts Invite, coming in at fifth (4:11.41).
CROSS COUNTRY: Herzl competed in the juniors’ race at the USATF Championships. He placed 10th overall, finishing the 8k race in 26:36. Herzl ran in three races for the Buffs as a member of the ?B’ team in 2007. He finished 36th overall at the Rocky Mountain Shootout (13th on the team). He scored for the Buffs at the Air Force Invite by placing seventh overall as CU’s No. 3 racer. 2007 Redshirt. Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: Herzl owns five records at
ACADEMICS: Herzl is majoring in physics and math at Colorado. He has been a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and owns a better than 3.0 GPA. He was named the recipient of the Golden Eagle Leadership Award and the Scholar/Athlete Award. A member of the honor roll, Herzl earned a 4.1 GPA at HHS. He also scored an 800 on the Math section of the SATs.
