Kenny Ingram
- Title:
- Defensive Analyst/Defensive Line
Kenny Ingram joined the Colorado Buffaloes football staff in 2026 as a defensive analyst working with the defensive line.
Ingram came to Boulder after four seasons at UCF (2021–24), where he coached the Knights’ defensive ends under head coach Gus Malzahn. During his time in Orlando, Ingram developed several of the program’s most productive defensive linemen and helped guide UCF through the transition into the Big 12 Conference.
In 2023, Ingram coached two of the Big 12’s top defensive ends in Tre’mon Morris-Brash and Malachi Lawrence, both of whom earned all-conference recognition. Morris-Brash was a first-team All-Big 12 selection after leading the conference and ranking fifth nationally with 18.5 tackles for loss, while adding 8.5 sacks, second-most in the league. Lawrence finished with 7.5 sacks, fourth in the Big 12. Veteran end Josh Celiscar, a three-year starter and two-time team captain, added 44 tackles and finished his career with 38 starts.
Ingram also helped develop Morris-Brash during the 2022 season when he led UCF with 13 tackles for loss and six sacks, while Celiscar recorded 54 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. Morris-Brash earned first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors from league coaches that season.
During the 2021 season, Ingram coached Big Kat Bryant, who earned first-team All-AAC honors and finished the year leading the Knights in sacks, tackles for loss and quarterback hurries. That defensive front helped UCF rank seventh nationally in pass efficiency defense and helped the Knights close the season with six wins in their final seven games.
Before joining the UCF staff, Ingram coached defensive tackles at Arkansas in 2019 and later assisted with the defensive line at Arkansas State in 2020, where he had previously worked under Malzahn during the Red Wolves’ 2012 Sun Belt Conference championship season.
Ingram also spent time at Auburn under Malzahn as director of player relations in two different stints (2013–14 and 2017–18). During that time, the Tigers appeared in bowl games each season, including a berth in the BCS National Championship Game following the 2013 season.
Earlier in his career, Ingram coached defensive tackles at Cincinnati (2015–16) under head coach Tommy Tuberville, helping the Bearcats earn a berth in the 2015 Hawai‘i Bowl.
Ingram began his collegiate coaching career at Tennessee State in 2005 as defensive line coach before moving to the University of Memphis, where he coached linebackers beginning in 2006 and later served as defensive coordinator in 2009. During his tenure, Memphis played in the 2007 New Orleans Bowl and the 2008 St. Petersburg Bowl.
Before entering the college ranks, Ingram was the head coach at Melrose High School in Memphis from 2002–04, compiling a 37–4 record and earning three regional coach of the year honors along with Memphis Commercial Appeal Coach of the Year recognition in 2004. His teams reached one state championship game and two state semifinals.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Ingram was a standout player at Whitehaven High School before becoming a four-year letterman and team co-captain at Arkansas State. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Arkansas State in 1999.
Ingram and his wife, Carla, have five children: Kendrien, Taylor, Kameron, and twins Kennedy and Karleigh.
