AT COLORADO: 2003 (Sr.)?A reserve wide receiver and key member of the scout team but did not see any game action in dressing for seven games. 

 

2002 (Jr.)?He returned to CU for spring drills after honing his skills in junior college; he dressed for eight games but did not see any game action.

 

2001 (Soph.)?He practiced with CU in the spring (at “Z” receiver), but transferred to Scottsdale Community College for the fall.  He played in eight games, snaring 10 receptions for 225 yards (no touchdowns).  SCC won the ACCAA title but lost to Garden City CC in the Valley of the Sun Bowl.

 

2000 (Fr.-RS)?He dressed for five games but did not see any action.

 

1999 (Fr.)?Redshirted; did not see any action but practiced the entire season at wide receiver.  He joined the team as a walk-on in time to participate in August drills.

 

HIGH SCHOOL?He lettered three times in football at Grand Junction, ranking in the top 10 in receptions and yards.  He had 45 receptions for 469 yards and six touchdowns as a senior, 13 catches for 245 yards and a score as a junior, and 25 for 243 as a sophomore with eight TDs.  As a junior, he ran the fastest 20-yard shuttle (4.13) at the NIKE training camp in Boulder.  Grand Junction was 5-5 his junior year and 7-4 his senior season under coaches Doug Cogan and Rocky Whitworth.  He also lettered four times in track (sprints and hurdles), with career bests of 10.67 in the 100, 21.54 in the 200 and 37.75 in the 300-intermediate hurdles (good for second in the state his senior year; it was also the fourth fastest time in Colorado state history).  All three of those times were school records.

 

ACADEMICS?He graduated with a degree in economics in December 2003. 

 

PERSONAL?Born Oct. 28, 1980 in Mesa, Ariz., but calls Orchard Mesa, Colo., outside of Grand Junction, his hometown.  Hobbies include hunting and fishing.  His paternal bloodline has roots in major league baseball: his father (Daniel) was a centerfielder with the Expos and Brewers, and his grandfather (Danny) was an outfielder with the Giants and Indians.  His younger brother, Marcus (also a receiver), joined the Buffaloes in the fall of 2002.
