AT COLORADO: This Season (Fr.-RS)-Enters the fall listed second at tight-side tackle.

2001 (Fr.)-Redshirted; did not see any action. He practiced the entire year on the offensive line, mainly at tackle. He won the Scout Team Offense Award for the UCLA game.

HIGH SCHOOL-As a senior, he earned Prep Football Report all-Southwest honors, with Rivals.com ranking him as the No. 61 offensive guard in the country. PrepStar named him to its honorable mention all-Midlands team, and he earned second-team all-district (6-5A) honors. He was named to play in a couple of postseason all-star games. As a senior, he blocked for a 1,500-yard rusher and allowed only one sack, and as a junior, he again allowed only a single sack (in 350 team pass attempts), and helped a pair of backs combine for 1,600-plus yards. He says his top prep career game came his senior year in an overtime loss to Marcus High School, when he graded out to 94 percent, did not allow any sacks, and helped a FMHS back gain 384 yards rushing. In a loss to Louisville his junior year, he graded out to 92 percent and did not allow any sacks, despite almost 50 team passing attempts. Under coach Cody Vanderford, Flower Mound was 4-6 his senior year and 1-9 his junior season, the first two varsity seasons on the 5A level at Flower Mound High School (his position coach was Allen Cross). He played baseball as a freshman in his native Ohio.

ACADEMICS-He is majoring in business (management) at Colorado.

PERSONAL-He was born Oct. 5, 1984 in Newark, Ohio (he lived in Ohio until moving to Texas his sophomore year in high school). His hobbies include lifting weights, listening to music, hunting and fishing, and playing a game called "hocker," which is a combination of soccer and hockey. (Last name is pronounced stah.)
