High School? A two-sport athlete at Battle Mountain High School in Minturn, Colo., Jenick was both the slalom and giant slalom state champion for head coach Ted Johnson who mentored the Huskys to Colorado State Championships in 2001 and ’02. Jenick was also a two-time first-team all-league soccer player on the pitch for head coach David Cope.
Other? As a member of Ski Club Vail from 1998-02, he was the 2000-01 and 2001-02 Junior Olympics (J-1 & J-II) overall champion, claiming the Willy Shaeffer Award for the latter and took the GS title at the Australian Nationals (J-II). He skied for the Aspen Valley Ski Club during the 2002-03 season.
Academics? A 2002 Battle Mountain graduate, Jenick enters his first season, and first year, at Colorado as an open option major.
Personal? Christopher Clark Jenick was born on Jan. 23, 1984 in Cary Illinois. He is son of P.J. and Jean Jenick of Avon. His hobbies include motorcycle riding and playing golf and he is one of thousands of Cubs fans that will just have to wait one more year.
