Honors
2025 (Sophomore)—Mazellier turned a solid freshman season into a masterful sophomore campaign during which he was named a two-time All-American, all-RMISA member and won his first collegiate race. He skied in 10 races in all, finishing eight of them, all in the top 10 with five top-five finishes that included three podium appearances and a race win. He opened the season on a heater, taking two podiums in the first two races, both slalom races at Loveland, the first a qualifier race and the second part of the DU Invitational. He then took fifth in the GS race as part of the DU Invitational. He took ninth in a slalom race in Montana and then went to Utah, where he took home fifth in the GS qualifier there before picking up his first collegiate win in the GS race as part of the Utah Invitational. He didn’t ski in Alaska for the final regular season meet or the RMISA Championships, but he returned for the NCAA championships, where he finished 10th in the slalom and seventh in the GS, bringing home second-team All-America honors in both races. He was also named second-team All-RMISA, was the RMISA Skier of the Meet for the RMISA Qualifiers, and given the team’s Buddy Werner Award at season’s end.
2024 (Freshman)—Mazellier turned in a solid freshman campaign by finished 12 of 14 races on the season, six of seven in each discipline, and bringing home no lower than a 16th place finish in all 12 races. He was in the top 10 a total of five times, four in GS and one in slalom, and he had three top five finishes, all in GS. He was at his best in the middle of the season, finishing in the top 11 six times in a seven race stretch. His first top 10 came in 10th place in a GS qualifier race ahead of the CU Invitational, then he finished fourth the following day as part of the CU meet. He then finished eighth in the slalom race at the CU Invitational. Fast forward to the RMISA Championships, he took fifth place in a pair of GS races, the first a qualifier and the second part of the RMISA Championship. He closed out the season with an impressive 12th place finish at the NCAA Championships in the GS, helping the Buffs to the NCAA title. His honors included Honorable Mention All-RMISA and he made mention on the National All-Academic Ski Team.
Prior To CU—He has skied competitively since 2005 and skied for Stoneham Ski Club from 2005-16, the Quebec Regional Team from 2016-18 and for the Quebec Ski Team since 2018. He was a member of the Canadian Alpine World Junior Team in 2022. In all, he has more than 270 starts in FIS races in his career, more than 100 in both giant slalom and slalom, and has finished in the top 30 in over 150 of those races with 33 total podiums which includes 13 race victories. He won a world junior championship with his Canadian teammates at the Junior World Championships in Panorama in 2022, and also finished 11th in the alpine combined at that event. He has skied on the Nor-Am, European and South American Cup circuits with more than 80 starts and eight top-10 finishes. He has six top 10 finishes at the Canadian National Championships including in four straight GS races there from 2019-23. In 2023, he finished fifth in Super G, seventh in GS and 13th in slalom at Kimberely Ski Resort for the Canadian National Championships. His 13 wins include five in giant slalom, four in slalom, two in Super G, one downhill along with his team parallel junior world championship. He was named Skibec Alpine’s Athelte of the Year in both 2017 and ‘18.
High School—Mazellier graduated from Ecole Secondaire Cardinal-Roy in Quebec City, Quebec, in 2018.
In the Classroom—He is interested in majoring in Business at Colorado.
Personal—His birthday is April 3 and he was born in Quebec City. His parents are Nicholas and Anne-Marie Mazellier and he has one younger brother, Arnaud. He would like to pursue a career in professional skiing and own his own business someday. He enjoys road biking, cooking, tennis, coffee and photography as hobbies. He served as a ballboy for the National Bank Cup from 2012-17.
