This Season ? “Jean-Fran?ois is an experienced European skier and he’s just pretty much having a blast in the U.S. As a European he was exposed to harsher conditions in terms of snow and the elements. He is just an excellent skier...he will be there. Right now, any of these guys can be on the NCAA squad. I can’t say for sure who will or won’t be on the squad for NCAA’s team, but it will end up coming down to the last runs in qualifications and us having to make some hard decisions.”
University of Savoie (Chambery, France)?He finished 19th and 15th respectively in the slalom and combined events at the French Championship.

High School?At Lycee du Mont-Blanc High School, Ferreira finished second in the slalom and third in the giant slalom in the Young French Championship Series in 1998.
Other?He has won two International Ski Federation races in his young skiing career, one in the slalom and one in the giant slalom. At the University of Savoie, Ferreira earned a bachelor’s degree in sports marketing.
Personal?Born July 23, 1983 in Sallanches, France, Ferreira is the son of Jean-Pierre and Claudine Ferreira. He has a younger sister, Marine, 15, who is in her first year of high school, as well as her first year in the FIS circuit in France. His girlfriend, Amandine, is French and is accompanying Ferreira to live in Boulder this year. He enjoys playing tennis, soccer, riding motorbikes, rollerblading and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to French and English, he studies the Italian and German languages. His Godmother, Eva Duvillard, lives in Durango, Colo., and recommended CU to Ferreira.
