High School? Gray skied for coach Travis Jones at Steamboat High School.

2002 (Western State)? Gray christened her collegiate career on the Western Slope in Gunnison, Colo. with a 31st place finish in the freestyle and 35th place showing in the classical race at Montana State.  She would go on to finish no worth than that the remainder of the season, including a Western State best weekend at New Mexico where she posted top-15 finishes in the skate (14th) and classical (13th).  She had a respectable showing in her first NCAA Championship in Anchorage, finishing 19th in the freestyle, but struggling to a 33rd place effort in the classical race on the final day of competition.

2003 (Western State)? In her strongest season to date, Gray turned in eight top-20 and a pair of top-10 finishes in 11 races.  Her strongest meet of the season was a runner-up finish in the skate at the Colorado Invitational, finishing between cousins Katrin Smigun of Utah who won the race and Colorado’s Jana Rehemaa, who finished third.  The freestyle proved to be her strength as a sophomore with all top-20 regular season finishes, but she lost her momentum at the NCAA Championships, finishing 32nd in both disciplines.

2004 (Western State)? Slightly off her sophomore year pace, Gray opened the 2004 season finishing 30th and 34th in the skate and classical, respectively, and did nothing but improve off that mark the rest of the season, culminating in her second NCAA Championship where she finished a personal meet-best 29th in the free and 36th in the classical.

Academics? Gray is a psychology major at Colorado.

Personal? The daughter of Gary and Nancy Gray, Jessica Gray was born Feb.13, 1982 in Steamboat Springs.  Her sister, Rebecca, is a sophomore on the CU campus.  Her hobbies include dance, reading, drawing and painting.
