This Season ? “In her third year as a Buff, Lenka seems to have regained her form that eluded her for a bit last year. I think Lenka should be standing tall on the podium a lot this season. Lenka is an extremely hard worker and saving her best efforts for racing can often be a challenge.”

2007 ? Fresh off of a remarkable freshman campaign, Pal?nov? claimed three top-10 finishes, including a season-best fifth place finish at the Montana State Invitational in the 5K freestyle race. She skied in all but one race for the Buffaloes and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second-straight year, where she took 30th in both disciplines.

2006 ? One of CU’s fantastic freshmen, Pal?nov? raced into the top 10 in every race of the season for the Buffaloes, one of just two skiers to do so. She posted two wins, both in freestyle on the season, one of which came in the CU Invitational and the other at the Montana State Invitational. She posted season-best finishes of fourth place in the classical race on two occasions, at Montana State and again at the CU Invite. Pal?nov? did not disappoint in the NCAA Championships, racing to seventh place in the 15k classical race and ninth in the 10k freestyle. She earned Second Team All-America honors in both disciplines.

Club ? Pal?nov? was been a member of the Czech national team for three years. She was a member of the 2002 Junior World Championship team in Germany, the 2003 Junior World Championship (Sweden) and also the U23 team that won the title in the United States two years ago. She took 11th in the U23 World Championships in the 15km in 2004.

Personal ? Lenka Pal?nov? was born Oct. 11, 1983 and is the daughter of Zdenek Palan and Ivana Pal?nov? of Harrachov. She has an older sister, Zuzana (27). She plans on majoring in advertising at Colorado. Her hobbies include playing sports, taking photos and listening to music.
