Villani comes to CU from the University of Massachusetts, having spent three years there as an assistant athletic trainer for three different sports.
At UMass, she was an assistant athletic trainer for women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer and field hockey. Villani won the University of Massachusetts Flagship Award in 2021 for her work during the Covid pandemic. In 2022, she won the University of Massachusetts Chancellor's Citation Award for her work in the sports medicine department.Â
Prior to her time at UMass, Villani worked at Fort Lewis College for one year as an assistant athletic trainer for women’s lacrosse and women’s volleyball.
She graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2016 with a bachelor of arts degree in athletic training. Villani was awarded the Athletic Training Student MVP in 2015. She was also a member of the Fort Lewis College club soccer team.Â
After graduating from Fort Lewis College, she went to graduate school at the University of Utah. Villani earned her masters degree in sports medicine and graduated from Utah in 2018.
Villani, a Colorado native, attended Elizabeth High School. There, she played varsity soccer for all four years and also played varsity rugby for two years.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, climbing and mountain biking.
