2005 Season Outlook: A very capable athlete and great student, an ankle injury to his take off leg, and surgery, set him back a season. Now he’s 100 percent, though his confidence may be a little shaken. He had strong meets at the beginning of season and should contribute to his goals in the high jump and of becoming a decathlete.
2004: He finished fifth at the Colorado Invitational with a long jump of 21-00.75, and recorded a 6-10.75 high jump at the Air Force Invitational; that mark was a career-high and tied for the 10th-best in the Big 12 indoor season. He finished 12th at the Big 12 Championships with a high jump of 6-08.75. During the outdoor campaign he took first place in the Potts Invitational with a season-high jump of 6-06.75.
2003: Both an indoor and outdoor high jumper, Miller paced the squad with the top six indoor jumps and the top four outdoor jumps. Indoors, he took first place at the Air Force Classic with his best hop of the season (6-10.75) and finished 14th at the Big 12 Championships (6-9.75). Outdoors, Miller was once again a force to be reckoned with, grabbing three first-place finishes and twice coming in third. At the Big 12 Championships he took 10th (6-7.5) before tying his highest jump of the outdoor season at the NCAA Regionals (6-10) for an 18th-place finish.
2002: Indoors, he had a high of 6-8.75 to take second at the Air Force Invitational. Miller then went on to capture an impressive four first-place finishes in outdoor meets with a high of 6-10.5 at the Jack Christensen Invitational. His second highest jump (6-10.25) came at the Big 12 Championships for a 12th place finish.
