2008: Hirschfeld concentrated on the 60 and 200-meter dashes during the indoor season. She saved the best for last in both as she notched personal records in both during the prelims of the Big 12 Championship. Hirschfeld ran a time of 7.87 in the 60 to place 20th and recorded a mark of 25.49 in the 200 for 21st overall. She also ran the 400 once at the Potts Invite and placed third with a time of 62.74. Hirschfeld ran in the 100 and 200 during the outdoor season, but her season was cut short due to injury. She earned a first-place finish in the 100 at the CU Invite (12.40) and ran a pr of 12.32 at the Potts Invite. She also took first at the CU Invite in the 200 with a pr of 25.36. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Hirschfeld is a member of the Charger’s school record 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays. She was all-conference all four years.

ACADEMICS: Hirschfeld is a broadcast news major at Colorado. She owns a greater than 3.00 GPA and is a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Hirschfeld would like to pursue a career in broadcast news upon graduation. 

PERSONAL: Cassandra Hirschfeld was born on November 14, 1987 in Denver. She is the daughter of Rob and Jan Hirschfeld. She has one older brother, Corey, who attends Metro State in Denver. Hirschfeld has volunteered with Alive-At-25. She jump roped competitively for nine years and was the national champion, which earned her an appearance on ESPN.
