2010: Indoor: Grandi competed in the pentathlon and the long jump during the indoor season. She recorded 2,541 points at the Potts Indoor Invite (1/22). Grandi tallied a personal record of 16-05.25 in the long jump at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight meet (2/19), tying for fourth-place overall.

Outdoor: Grandi participated in the heptathlon at the Glenn Morris Multi-Events meet. She totaled 3,604 points and placed ninth. Grandi also recorded a leap of 15-03.50 at the CU Invite (4/10).

HIGH SCHOOL: Grandi is a member of two school record owning relay teams, the 3,200 (9:39) and 1,600-meter (4:04). She was all-conference, county and area her sophomore through senior years and was all-conference and county as a freshman. Grandi qualified for state all four years on the track team. She was a member of the BHS basketball team, earning all-conference, county and area honors her final three seasons.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Grandi intends to major in Spanish and psychology but is also interested in business and pre-medicine. She won the Science Departmental Award in 2009 and was the valedictorian of her class.

PERSONAL: Catherine Marion Grandi was born on April 24, 1991 in Burlington, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Robert and Jennifer Grandi. She has three siblings, Melissa, Ellie and Sophie. Her uncle, Joe Curran, played football at Michigan State. Grandi lists waterskiing, boating, reading and sports as her hobbies. She has been a volunteer youth coach for basketball and track and has spent time volunteering at a homeless shelter while in high school. Grandi was a gymnast for 10 years before focusing on track and field.
