2005 Outlook: The Air Force transfer ran one race for the Falcons before landing at CU at the semester break a year ago. After a redshirt season, she and the coaching staff will be anxious for her to compete to get the rust off as she has shown potential in training.

High School: Peterson ran the 100 and 300-meter hurdles at Portage Central High School in Portage, Mich. Her junior season, she finished ninth in state in the 100-meter hurdles and sixth in state in the 300-meter hurdles. She also owns school records for both events, while also claiming conference champion honors three times and regional champion honors twice. She also competed in swimming, where she owns several school records. Upon graduation, Peterson was named the best student-athlete at Portage Central.

Academics: As a junior in high school, Peterson was an Academic All-American in swimming and Academic All-State in track. At Colorado, she’s a MCDB-Biology major with a better than 3.0 grade point average.

Personal: Chelsea Peterson was born January 26, 1983 in Kalamazoo, Mich. to parents Mark Peterson and Cindee Quake-Rapp. She has two biological sisters, Erika and Paige. Peterson enjoys skiing, snowboarding, equestrian riding, swimming and the outdoors. She has worked with disabled people at the Rocky Mountain Riding Therapy Clinic. She likes to joke that she lives with the Brady Bunch (two sisters and three step-sisters and brothers). After college she would like to pursue a career in physical therapy, sports medicine or nursing.
