High School: A three-time team MVP and runner-up for the Jefferson County League MVP his senior year, Ikwuakor comes to Colorado holding a pair of school records. Ikwuakor holds Pomona High School records in the high jump (6-5) and the triple jump (45-7). He finished fifth in the state meet in the triple jump his senior year.

Personal: Chimemerem Ikwuakor was born on Aug. 13, 1984 to parents Killian and Patricia. He is one of a set of triplets and siblings Obiamlam and Akobundu are both freshmen on the CU track team. He is enrolled at CU as an open-option major in CU's College of Arts and Sciences. He chose Colorado over Kansas State, Colorado State and Missouri Valley.
