2003 Track & Field: Curtis participated in the 800 and 1,500-meter events during the outdoor track season. In the 800-meter, he established a season-high of 1:58.51 at the Jack Christensen Invite with his top finish being an eighth place showing at the Jim Click Invite (2:04.45). In the 1,500-meter run, Curtis claimed 19th place at the Tom Benich Classic with a season-high mark of 4:21.33.
High School: Curtis was a member of Eaglecrest’s 2002 state championship track team. The two-time team MVP ran the 800 and 1600-meter races for the Raptors, earning honorable mention all-state honors as a senior. He left high school holding seven school records with a pair of fourth place finishes in the 800 at the state meet. He ran a 1:55.2 in the race his junior year to win his heat at the state meet.
Personal: Christopher Charles Curtis was born on July 28, 1983 to parents Charles and Debbie Curtis in Houston, Texas. Curtis plans to pursue an English degree during his time at Colorado. He was also recruited by Iowa, South Carolina, Wyoming, Colorado State, New Mexico and Boise State.
