2005 Outlook: Wilhite will redshirt the 2005 campaign with a chronic knee injury and subsequent surgery.
2004: Wilhite competed in the 400-meter dash, as well as the 4X400-meter relay during the indoor season. In the 400, he posted an indoor career-best (49.60) at the Air Force Invite, good for 14th in the meet. At the Big 12 Championships he finished 19th with a time of 50.07. In the 4X400, Wilhite’s relay team clocked a 3:17.31, earning them fourth, at the Adidas Classic and finished just short of Big 12 scoring marks in ninth at the conference championships with a 3:19.02. Wilhite lettered during the outdoor season, as his events included the 200 and 400-meter dashes, along with 4X100 and 4X400-meter relays. He only competed twice in the 200 and ran a 22.33 ? a new PR ? at the Potts Invitational while placing third. In the 400, he ran the fifth-fastest time on the team with a 48.17 at the Jack Christensen Invite as he came in fifth. He finished 14th at Big 12s by clocking a 48.54 and helped lead the Buffs to an eighth-place finish (42.01) in the 4X100 relay at the conference championships. His relay unit also earned scoring points again in the 4X400 when he ran the second leg to solidify sixth (3:11.98) for CU.
2003: Outdoors, he owned the top 400-meter time on the team (47.34), but claimed sixth in the prelims of the Big 12 Championships (48.24) and 20th at the NCAA Regionals (48.47). His outdoor 4x400 relay team claimed 10th at the Big 12 Championships (3:12.32) while Wilhite’s indoor 4x400 relay team took eighth at the Big 12s (3:18.75).
High School: He was a member of the state championship 4x400 relay team his sophomore year at Pueblo South. His senior year (2000), he ran the 400-meter dash in 47.6 for a runner-up finish at the state championship meet, while his 21.6 in the 200-meters was the fourth-best time in the state. He was all-state both his sophomore and junior years. Wilhite also was a standout wide receiver on the football team, but did not play his senior year due to a knee injury. He also lettered in basketball.
Academics: An open option major at CU, Wilhite was an honor roll student in high school every semester since his sophomore year, as he owned a 3.4 grade point average.
Personal: Born Dec. 6, 1982 in Pueblo, Colo. His hobbies include fishing and hanging out with friends.
