2011: Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Tam competed in the 800 and 1,500 for the Buffs. He ran a personal best time of 4:07.28 at the Potts Invite (3/19), placing ninth overall. Tam ran his season-best time in the 800 (1:58.63) at the CU Invite (4/9).
2010: Indoor: Tam ran in a pair of races. He clocked a time of 1:17.35 in the 600-yard run at the Potts Indoor Invite (1/23) to take ninth overall. At the Don Barrett Duals (1/30) he clocked a time of 2:01.55 in the 800-meter run, placing 12th.
Outdoor: Tam mainly focused on the 800 during the outdoor season. He ran a pair of sub-two minute 800's. He ran a then-PR of 1:58.92 at the Front Range Classic (5/1), but just one week later Tam bettered that performance with a time of 1:57.62 at the Fum McGraw Open (5/8).
HIGH SCHOOL: Tam started running his senior year. He ran the anchor leg of the BHS 4x800-meter relay which won the Front Range League Championship in 2009. The relay qualified for the state championship and placed 11th overall.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Tam is majoring in studio art. He owns a greater than 3.00 GPA.
PERSONAL: Geoffrey Waikin Tam was born on March 16, 1990, in Denver, Colo. He is the son of Joe and Barbara Tam of Boulder, Colo., and has one brother, Ryder. Tam lists playing soccer, hiking, snowboarding and running as his hobbies. He was homeschooled through middle school and high school.
