2017: Indoor: Narvarte focused on the high jump and competed four times. He tied for second in the high jump at the Colorado Open with a season-best mark of 6-7.
Outdoor: Narvarte competed in the high jump at five meets as a freshman outdoors. His best jump of the season, 6-7.75, was at the Jerry Quiller Classic where he placed third overall.

HIGH SCHOOL: Narvarte qualified for the state championships in the high jump his freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior seasons. He won the state title in 2014, clearing 6-6, and was the runner-up in 2015 and 2016. During Narvarte’s career at LWHS, he set a school record in the high jump (6-10) and the triple jump (40-10.5). He also played basketball.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Narvarte is a journalism major.

PERSONAL: Giancarlo Andres Narvarte was born on December 11, 1997 in Torrance, Calif. He is the son of Julio Narvarte and Kelly Sheffler. He has two brothers, Marco and Diego, who both compete in track and basketball at Lee Williams High School. Narvarte’s sister passed away when he was a sophomore, so he dedicated his season to her.
