2005 Season Outlook: Hamera is a rare fifth-year transfer coming to CU from Missouri-Rolla where she was a Division II All-American. She only has indoor track eligibility remaining, but the coaching staff expects her to help out at the Big 12 Championships and possibly earn a Big 12 divisional qualifying time.
2000-2004 University of Missouri-Rolla: Hamera lettered four times in track as a middle distance runner at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where she was an All-American in the mile and 1,500-meter distances. She set school records in the 800, 1,500 (4:28) and 3,000-meter distances, while she also holds school marks for the mile (4:48), the distance medley relay and the 4x800 and 4x400-meter relays. In addition, Hamera earned All-American status twice on the cross country team, as she lettered all four years.
High School: Hamera was a four-time letter winner at Bishop LeBlond High School, where she was an All-State selection in the 4x200-meter relay.
Academics: She graduated from Missouri-Rolla in ’04 and transferred to CU because of its aerospace engineering graduate program. Hamera was a Missouri finalist for the Rhodes Scholar Award, as she maintained a perfect grade point average at Missouri-Rolla during her time there. She was the 2004 Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year, named by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association. As a graduate student at CU she carries a 3.900 grade point average.
