2011: Indoor: Canini competed in six meets for the Buffs. At the Colorado School of Mines Twilight (2/18) she tied for eighth on CU's all-time performers list after clearing a personal best of 5-07, tying for first in the process. Canini competed at the Big 12 Championships for CU and tied for 13th with a jump of 5-04.50.
Outdoor: Did not compete.
2010: Indoor: Canini competed at five meets during the indoor campaign, recording two first-place finishes. She tied for first at the Potts Invite (1/23) with a jump of 5-02.25. Canini's other win was her last of the season, reaching a height and season-best of 5-05 at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight Meet (2/19).
Outdoor: Canini added the long jump to her repertoire during the outdoor season. She earned her season-best in the high jump at the CSU-Pueblo Invite (4/17); placing second with a jump of 5-06. At the Big 12 Championship, she tied for 11th after jumping 5-05. Canini earned her best mark of the season in the long jump with a leap of 16-03.75 at the Jack Christiansen Invite. She was seventh overall.
HIGH SCHOOL: Canini placed sixth at the state meet her senior year in the high jump. In 2005, she placed eighth at nationals.
PERSONAL: Laurisa Arielle Canini was born on February 7, 1991 in Laurel, Maryland. She is the daughter of Laura Canini of Colorado Springs, Colo. Canini has two siblings, Julian Canini and Gabe Lee. She enjoys reading, hiking, swimming and woodworking.
