2005 Outlook: The school record holder in the triple jump (40-6.25), Negriff had a strong fall semester of training, has gotten stronger and faster, and has hopes of scoring during both the indoor and outdoor campaigns.

2004: Negriff competed in the triple jump in the indoor season, winning at the Air Force invite with a team-best and personal-best 39-05. In the outdoor season, she finished second at the Potts Invitational and sixth at the Pepsi Invitational, where she set had her career-best mark of 17-4.75 in the long jump. She also had the top six performances in the triple jump among her teammates, garnering first-place finishes at the Jack Christensen Invite and the Potts Invitational. Negriff’s performance at the Big 12 Championships netted a jump of 40-6.25, good for ninth place and established a new school record, bettering Udie Ekiko’s 1994 mark of 40-2.

2003: Participating in both indoor and outdoor competition, Negriff competed in the long jump and triple jump as a sophomore. During the indoor campaign, she only competed in the triple jump, and recorded the longest jump on the team for a 12th place finish at the Big 12 Championships (38-5). Outdoors, Negriff twice bested her previous top indoor mark in the triple jump with first place finishes at the Jim Click Invite (38-7.75) and Jack Christensen Invite (39-9.75). She also tallied the team’s top five triple jump scores, including a 13th place finish at the Big 12 Championships (37-08.75). Outdoors, Negriff recorded a personal best 16-11.25 for fifth place at the Jim Click Invite.

2002: Negriff participated in the pole vault, long jump and triple jump in outdoor competition. She took second place in the long jump at the Colorado Invitational (15-9), fourth at the Air Force Quadrangular (15-10.25) and had her outdoor high of 16-4.5 at the ASU Invitational where she finished sixth. Negriff also placed first in the triple jump at the Colorado Invite (35-4.5), third at the Jack Christensen Invite (36-11.5), and had two other top five finishes in the event. In the pole vault, she took sixth at the Air Force Quadrangular (10-0). Outdoors, Negriff finished fifth in the triple jump at the Husker Invitational (36-11) and eighth in the long jump at the Air Force Invitational (16-8).

High School: Negriff set school records in the long jump (17-8) and triple jump (38-0). She took first in the San Joaquin sub-sections (triple-jump) her sophomore year and third her sophomore and senior years. Her team won the Sierra Foothills League championship in 1999. She took the MVP Jumper title during her senior season. Negriff also competed in the high jump and pole vault.

Academics: Negriff carries a 3.726 grade point average as an international affairs, Spanish for professions and economics major.  She has been on both the Dean’s List and Commissioner’s Honor Roll all seven semesters. She has also received an honor thesis grant to conduct research in Peru.

Personal: Liza Katerina Negriff was born on to August 22, 1982 to parents Larry Negriff and Ann Wilder in Santa Monica, Calif. She enjoys snowboarding, wake boarding, surfing and skateboarding.
