2005 Outlook: A talented athlete, Baker was set back a year due to a case of West Nile Virus. After starting from scratch this year and showing improvement during training in the fall semester, her biggest obstacle will be regaining confidence.
2004: Redshirt. Did not compete.
2003: Baker improved from 9-6 to 11-6 in the Colorado Invitation. During summer vacation she had an unfortunate bout with lime disease.
High School: Baker left behind Santa Cruz High School holding a pair of school records. Both set in May of 2002, Baker owns the record for the pole vault at 9-6 and a record of 49.1 in the 4x100 relay, which she anchored. She was the team’s MVP in 2001. Baker was also an honor roll student in high school in addition to being three-time MVP of the school’s diving team.
Academics: A kinesiology major, Baker plans to pursue a career in sports medicine. She made the Dean’s List in the spring ’03 semester and was named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll twice.
