2017: Indoor: In his first season, Rocha raced in the mile and the 3,000-meters. At the MPSF Championships (2/25) Rocha clocked a time of 4:13.79 in the mile and at the Husky Classic (2/11) he recorded a time of 8:16.09 in the 3,000. He was also a member of the men’s distance medley relay team that placed sixth at the MPSF Championships.
Outdoor: Rocha competed in one event during the 2016-17 outdoor season and this was the 1,500-meter run. Rocha earned himself a personal record in the event with a time of 4:02.27 at the Jerry Quiller Classic (3/18) in Boulder.
HIGH SCHOOL: Rocha had an outstanding senior cross country season, winning 10 of his 11 high school races, as well as placing second at Foot Locker Nationals. A two-time state cross country champion, he also finished 11th at the Nike Cross Championships as a junior. As a sophomore, Rocha placed fifth at state after earning a 10th place finish his freshman year. He was also successful on the track. At the state championships in 2015, Rocha placed second in the 3,200-meter run at the state championship after winning the Pacific League Finals; he also won the 1,600 Pacific League title.

PERSONAL: Phillip Rocha was born on May 21, 1998 in Azusa, Calif. He is the son of Phillip and Sarah Rocha and has two older sisters.
