2007 OUTLOOK: Sasha has had a great fall. She had been making huge strides on the track and in the weight room. She will contribute in the long sprints and the relays.

2006: Abuan ran in the 60 and the 200-meter dashes during the indoor season. She earned a pr of 8.55 in the 60 and a pr of 28.28 in the 200 at the Air Force Invite. During the outdoor campaign, she ran a pr of 27.93 in the 200 at the Potts Invite. She earned her best finish of the season with a 10^th-place finish.

2005: Redshirt. Did not compete.

High School: A long and triple jump standout at Standley Lake, Abuan lettered four times in track and field for the Gators. She was a team captain her senior year, and garnered second-team all-Jefferson County honors during the 2004 campaign. Her top triple jump was a 33-9.5, while she also recorded a 16-4.5 for her best long jump mark. She lists her most memorable prep moment as when she tallied a personal best long jump at the state regional qualifiers. She also ran on the 4X200 relay team.

ACADEMICS: Abuan is majoring in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. She is also interested in finance and is considering a career as an auditor upon graduation. She has been named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll and carries a better than 3.0 GPA.

PERSONAL: Sasha Abuan was born in Hayward, Calif. on April 19, 1986. She is the daughter to parents John and Connie Abuan, and Bonnie Freitas. Her brother, Chris, is a sprinter on CU’s men’s track team. They are the first people in their family to ever compete in collegiate athletics. She enjoys drawing and traveling and is fluent in Spanish.
