High School: A cross-country and track athlete at Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton, Colo., Friedrichsen ran the 400, 800 and 1600 meter events. He holds school records in the 1600, 800, 5k, 4x800 relay, distance medley, sprint medley and the 4x1600 relay. Twice being named Athlete of the Season as a junior and senior, he was also named Athlete of the Year, all-state and all-conference as a senior.
Personal: Tyson L. Friedrichsen was born August 31, 1985 to parents Brent and Kelly Friedrichsen in Billings, Montana. His uncle, Monty L. Kimble, is a song writer living in Nashville, Tenn. Friedrichsen is an intended kinesiology major with an added interest in studying psychology. He wants to go into the physical therapy profession upon graduation. His hobbies include snowboarding, skateboarding and playing the guitar. He chose Colorado over Western State to be close to home and compete with the best runners.
