2020: Indoor: Worked back into shape and finished the season with at the MPSF Championships with a season-best 14.53 meters (47-8) in the shot put.
Outdoor: Canceled (Coronavirus).
2019: Indoor: Redshirted.
Outdoor: Redshirted.
2018: Indoor: Competed in seven meets ... Progressed strongly in the weight throw, finishing the indoor season with a personal best 15.66 meters (51-4.5).
Outdoor: Made strides in the shot put with a personal best 15.51 meters (50-10.75) at the Tom Benich Invite ... Also tossed a personal best 52.89 meters (173-6) in the hammer throw ... Completed a trio of personal bests at the 7220 Invite with a best of 44.11 meters (144-9) in the discus. 
2017: Indoor: During his second indoor season, Swanson participated in both the shot put and the weight throw. He recorded his personal best in both events at the Joe Davies Classic (2/17.) His toss of 43-9 in the shot put earned him a sixth place finish. In the weight throw, he recorded a throw of 48-3.5 that placed him fifth at the meet.
Outdoor: Swanson set new personal bests in the shot put and hammer throw during his sophomore year for the Buffs. During the 2016-17 outdoor season, Swanson threw both new personal records at the Tom Benich Invite in Greeley, Colo. For the shot put event, Swanson threw a 44-6.25/13.5, then for the hammer throw event, he threw a 150-3/45.81.
2016: Indoor: Swanson competed in both the shot put and weight throws in his first season. He earned a pair of season bests at the Power Meet (12/11/15) to start the season. Swanson tossed the shot put 42-3.50 for fifth place and recorded a mark of 37-5 in the weight throw, which was also fifth.
Outdoor: Swanson threw the shot put and hammer during his first outdoor season. He tossed a season best 42-3 in the shot put at the CU Invite and his season best mark in the hammer was 120-0, which came in his final meet of the season (Air Force Twilight).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Swanson focused on the shot put during his high school career, earning three letters in the process. He recorded a season-best mark of 53-3 at the CIF-SS Division 3 Prelims, placing eighth. At the CIF-SS Division 3 Finals, he was seventh with a throw of 53-2.75. As a junior, Swanson won the Arcadia Invitational with a throw of 55-3.50. He also played football and earned three letters as a defensive lineman.
               
HIGH SCHOOL BESTS: Shot Put: 55-3.50.
 
IN THE CLASSROOM: Graduated with a degree in political science (May 2020).   
 
PERSONAL: Austin Brian Swanson is the son of Richard and Taraiakia Swanson of North Hollywood, Calif. He has one younger sister, Audrey.
