2019: Indoor: Had a strong season indoors where she  moved up to eighth in CU's top-10 in the pentathlon. Her strongest performance came in the first meet of the year at the Mines Alumni Classic where she placed second in a personal best mark of 3,832.
Outdoor: Things began to come together for Wenning outdoors when she put together strong heptathlon performances at both the Texas Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational. Set her all-time best of 5,585 at Bryan Clay, leaning heavily on a second improvement in the hurdles and an enormous long jump of 5.86 meters (19-2.75 w.a.). Placed fourth at the Pac-12 Combined Events Championship and automatically advanced to the NCAA Championships where she placed 22nd overall for an All-American Honorable Mention finish.
2018: Indoor: Wenning’s indoor season was focused mostly on the pentathlon. She competed in three pentathlons throughout the season and placed in the top ten in all of them. At the MPSF Championships in February, she placed sixth in the pentathlon and earned a personal record for overall point score with a total of 3,752 points.
Outdoor: Wenning competed in a variety of events throughout her outdoor season to prepare her for the two heptathlons in which she competed. At the Bryan Clay Invitational in April she placed ninth in the heptathlon and set a personal record with a total point score of 5,247. While competing in this heptathlon she also set personal records in the 100-meter hurdles (14.68), 200 meters (26.50), 800-meters (2:21.44), high jump (5-08.75/1.75), long jump (17-09.75/5.40) and the shot put (38-00.75/11.60). The only event she did not set a personal record in was the javelin; however, at the Pac-12 Championships she did record a personal best of 122-04.00/37.29). 
 
2017: Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Wenning competed in a pair of heptathlons as a junior. She recorded a personal record of 4,934 at the California Invitational (4/11-12), where she finished the meet with a strong PR of 2:19.65 in the 800-meter run. Wenning also did quite well in the heptathlon at the Pac-12 Championships, recording a score of 3,937 despite not finishing the 800. At Pac-12s, she recorded a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles (15.30) as well as the 200 (26.35) and the shot put (35-11.25). Wenning also threw a season best mark in the javelin at the meet at 110-02.
 
2016: Indoor: Wenning tallied a pentathlon personal best score of 3,511 at the Air Force Invite (1/21), which was second overall. At the MPSF Championships, she was 12th with 3,444 points. During the season, Wenning recorded personal bests in the high jump (5-5.75), shot put (34-10.25) and long jump (17-8.25).
Outdoor: Redshirt. Did not compete.
 
2015: Indoor: Wenning competed in three pentathlons for the Buffs. Her best one was at the CSM Alumni Open (12/12/14) where she placed ninth with a season high total of 3,224 points. She also placed 14th at the MPSF Championship with 3,173 points and was 11th at the Air Force Invite with 3,149 points.
Outdoor: Wenning participated in a pair of heptathlons in her first season with the Buffs. She recorded a personal best score (4,540) at the Pac-12 Championships where she placed 12th overall. At the meet, she cleared a season best mark of 5-5.75 in the high jump. Wenning also recorded a score of 4,542 at the California Invite (4/15-16). There she earned three season bests. She threw the shot put 33-7.50, ran 27.23 in the 200 and finished the 800 in 2:23.99.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Wenning didn’t compete her senior season of high school due to injury, but she had strong credentials from her prior seasons. Wenning was a first team All-Western Buckeye League selection her freshman through senior seasons and was All-Ohio her freshman, sophomore and junior years. As a junior, Wenning was the 2013 Ohio State high jump champion. She also qualified for the state championship in the 100-meter hurdles, 300-hurdles and 4x400-meter relay. During her sophomore year, she was part of the 4x400-meter relay team which placed second overall and the 4x800 relay that was eighth at state. The Bulldogs won the WBL championship three straight seasons (2012-14) and were regional champions in 2012. CHS placed fourth in the team standing in 2013.  Wenning was also a member of the volleyball and swimming teams at CHS and owns the 50-freestyle record. She was the CHS Valedictorian, a four-year Scholar-Athlete and won the Sportsmanship Award. Wenning was recruited by Princeton, Cincinnati, Akron, Dayton and Georgia Tech.
               
IN THE CLASSROOM: Wenning is a chemical and biological engineering and biochemistry major and is minoring in philosophy, biomedical engineering and applied mathematics. She has earned an impressive 3.977 GPA.
 
PERSONAL: Michaela Ann Wenning was born on Sept. 14, 1995. She is the daughter of Bill and Deb Wenning and has three siblings, Brandon, Matt and Sara. She enjoys kayaking, basketball and beach volleyball.
