2008 OUTLOOK: Nate is one of the leaders of the sprint corps. He has had his best falls since coach Couts has seen.  Couts is expecting big things out of him this season.

2007: Terry’s main event is the 400, but he ran a few other events throughout both seasons. Terry earned top-honors in his first meet of the season (Potts Invite) as he ran 49.82. He clocked a season-best mark of 48.94 at the Don Barrett Open and placed sixth. At the conference championship, he placed 18th in the prelims of the 600 (1:12.24). He was also a member of the 4x400 relay team which place 11th at the conference meet (3:15.63). Terry recorded pr’s in both the 400 and 800 during the outdoor season. He ran the 800 once, at the Potts Invite, and placed 15th in 2:00.78. At the Wyoming Invite, he clocked a pr of 48.27 and took eighth overall.

2006: Terry competed in the 200, 400, 500 and 600-meter races during the indoor season. He recorded a first-place finish in the 500 during the first meet of the season, earning a time of 1:05.294. At the Air Force Invite, he ran in the 200 and 400. He recorded a pr of 22.26 in the preliminaries and placed 12th overall. In the 400, he took seventh (48.93) after recorded a mark of 49.06 in the prelims. At the conference championship, he placed 10th overall in the 600 with a pr of 1:11.91. Terry also ran in the sixth-place finishing Distance Medley Relay (9:53.84) and the eighth-place 4x400-meter relay (3:15.36). During the outdoor campaign, he ran the 200, 400 and the 4x400 relay. Terry notched a pr of 47.29 at the Jack Christiansen Invite in the 400 and placed sixth overall. His best finish in the 200 came at the Ris Western/Air Force Twilight where Terry picked up a fifth-place finish (22.07). At the outdoor championships, he took 14th in the 400 prelims (47.51). The 4x440-yard relay placed third (3:09.41) and helped CU to a fourth-place standing in the championship.

2005: Terry competed in both the 400 and 600-meter races during the indoor season. His best time in the 400 race was 49.50 at the Air Force Open, which earned him a fifth place finish. He ran a time of 1:13.40 at the Colorado Open 600 race to finish in second-place. He ran three relay races in the indoor season, two 4x400 races and one mile relay. His best finish in the 4x400 relay was a time of 3:16.05 at the Husky Classic and the mile relay team clocked in at 3:16.72 at the Air Force Classic. In the outdoor season, Terry participated in the 100, 400 and 800. He set personal records in the 400 (48.30) at the Big 12 Championships and in the 800 (2:00.11) at the Potts Invitational to finish third. His best finish in the 100 race was ninth (22.52) at the Colorado Invitational. In the outdoor relays, Terry participated in the regional qualifying 4x400 team who recorded a time of 3:08.86 as well as the mile relay team who finished in 3:12.79 at the Michael Johnson Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 400-meter dash standout at Colorado’s Loveland High School, Terry graduated with the Indians’ school record in the event with a 48.34, which is also a Northern Conference record. He finished as the state’s runner-up in the 400 during the 2003 season, while he took home third place a year later. A member of Loveland’s 2000 4A State Champion track team, Terry also competed in the 200-meter dash, 4X400-meter relay and the 800-meter medley relay events. His personal best in the 200 was a 21.86, while his relay units both hold school records. In addition, the city of Loveland named him its Track Athlete of the Year during his junior and senior campaigns. He lists the biggest moment of his athletic career when Loveland won the 4A state football title his senior year; he had three catches and one interception in that game. He chose CU over Northern Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State and Nebraska.

ACADEMICS: Terry is a civil engineering major at Colorado. He is also interested in environmental studies.

PERSONAL: Nathan Charles Terry was born June 6, 1986 in Loveland, Colo. Ken Terry and Joan Bartz are his parents, while he also has a little brother, Ben, who is 14. He enjoys fishing, hunting and delving into video productions during his spare time. A cousin, Allison Collins, is a standout soccer player at Rochester University.
