2008: Fales competed in the heptathlon during the indoor season. His best total was 3,559 points which came at the Air Force Invite where he placed 17th overall. Fales also competed in the long and triple jumps. His best long jump was 21-08.50 at the Joe Davies’ Open where he placed fourth. Fales also had his best triple jump at the same meet (44-10.75) and took seventh. During the outdoor season, Fales concentrated on his jumping events. He earned a season-best jump of 20-09.00 in the long jump at the CU Invite and took sixth. In the triple jump, he recorded his best jump of 45-01.00 at the Rob Upton Invite, taking fourth.
HIGH SCHOOL: Fales was a four-time letterwinner on the track and field team at RMHS. He was named the team MVP as a freshman, junior and senior. Fales was an Academic All-State First Team selection all four years, as well as all-conference. Fales was selected as the recipient of the Rocky Mountain Coaches Athletic Award as a senior. He lists his biggest moment in high school as recording a personal record in both events his first year at state.
ACADEMICS: Fales is majoring in chemical and biological engineering at Colorado. He is also interested in business. Fales was named the AP Biology Student of the Year in RMHS.
